Duda happy quarter finalist

Releifed and filled with joy. Benedikt Duda, STIGA-player from Germany, was shining satisfaction after winning a thriller against Ondrej Bajger of Tjechien in the round of the last 16 among the boys juniors. Duda saved three set balls in the sixth game and finally won 13-11 and 4-2 in games.

- A good game with a lot of high quality rallies, the German said after the match. I could keep my self calm and win the importent duels. I tried to keep my receives very short and then put pressure to the middle of the table when the rallies opened up. It worked.

At 2-2 in games and 6-8 Duda called for time out.

- Me and my coach talked about that Bajger often served half long services. I should wait for the ball and go for a forehand top spin directly on his services instead of playing passive and just put the ball back so he got the opportunity to be offensive.

The advice came in the right time. Maybe it turned the whole match. Anyway, the 6-8 became 9-9 and then a close game win for Duda.

In the sixth game the young German seemed to control the match, leading 5-2. But the lead very quickly was turned to being down. The Chech had three game balls to tie, but Duda saved them all, finally winning the game at 13-11.

- Then I felt reliefed. And pure joy!

Benedikt Duda went for a medal, but in the quarter finals Enzo Angles from France was too strong, winning 4-1.
